Although it is a big claim, we certainly noticed it on the greens in testing, as it produced a lovely feel off the face of the putter, as well as the wedges. While golfers who can generate faster clubhead speeds may be skeptical about using a softer golf ball, we were pleasantly surprised at how much control and consistency the Tour Soft offered, even with our tester producing a swing speed of around 110mph. In testing, we found this was the case as it produced a towering trajectory with every club in the bag. The low spin rate means that it doesn’t get the height I’m usually after and the trajectory feels a little dampened.

I would guess the Hex Tour Soft ball is probably a 15 to 25 compression ball and the Hex Tour is more like a 50 compression (I can't find the true stats anywhere). With great core technology that leads to longer, straighter shots especially off the driver, and a soft cover for feel and consistent performance on your irons and wedges, this is a ball that’s going to help you play well from tee-to-green. None of them seemed like something that would affect the play of the ball but definitely noticeable if you are looking for it.Despite the 3-piece core technology and the soft cover, the ball does jump off the wedge a little too quickly and doesn’t check up very fast. Additionally, HPF is a proprietary ionomer blend made by DuPont that is commonly used for golf ball mantle layers.

The improved core technology is designed to produce longer, straighter shots most notably from the tee box, plus a considerably tighter dispersion angle on iron shots and wedge play. Based on my last post, assuming the SUPERHOT 55 is a ‘55’ compression ball I think it is safe to say the Hex Tour Soft is also a 55 compression ball. The lack of spin coupled with the firmer core technology means the ball flies longer and rolls out more. His golfing highlight to date is shooting a round of 10-under 60 at his home club, narrowly missing a wedge shot for a magical 59.

His two main passions in golf are courses, having played over 400 courses worldwide, and shoes; he owns over 40 pairs. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.

Along with the added technology, it has a Soft Compression Core that enhances energy transfer for more ball speed and a high-launch, low-spin combo in the longer clubs, something which we noticed during our testing.Alternatively, chances are if you are on this guide you want a softer-feeling golf ball that aids feel and spin around the greens instead. It's the least bright ball that I currently have to compare it with but every other ball I have is a urethane ball (with the exception of the Diablo Tour that I have purely for comparison sake). A fantastic value ball with outstanding performance, we definitely recommend these for senior players who don't want to spend lots on premium balls. So he tasked his staff with creating products that were “pleasingly different and demonstrably superior. And, most importantly, when it comes to shots around the green, this baby delivers an outstanding soft feel.
