Addendum, a month after writing the post: If I’d reposted it on blogspot yesterday, or two days before yesterday, or a week ago, I could have said the same thing. I did try sending Revlon a letter to inquire as to why we don’t have it in Canada, and they sent me a form letter about how products get discontinued (which it isn’t, it’s been in constant production in the US, so I guess no one really read my question. It was a runaway smash, so it's safe to say that Cherries in the Snow literally built the Revlon cosmetics empire. I don't think they are at all inferior to some of the most expensive lipsticks I've used, and they're only 5 bucks.

I owned Cherries in the Snow and Fire and Ice but I didn't love them - they were too bright for my goth teen aesthetic. It feels velvety smooth on your lips and delivers all the full, vibrant lip colour you can’t get enough of.What I had a hard time finding was a good red, and finally I got it in the uber-traditional Cherries in the Snow that fits nearly any setting or outfit I have going on. I bought that nail polish for my mom last Christmas, she likes reds and I thought it was so classic and a rich, vibrant colour.

One of my favorite beauty blogs, Lipglossiping, wrote a post to that effect: “This isn’t a red lipstick and I’m sick of hearing it described as a blue-based red. If you scrolled past my review of the lipstick shade, I thought I would mention here that this color may look different on different skin tones. Worse, something in the polish makes my eyes and nose water like mad, so I'm guessing I have an allergy to whatever that is.Product reviews, comparisons, swatches, and rambling about consumerism, feminism, and other issues related to beauty culture. I won't go into all the reasons why I prefer pinks and other softer colors but weirdly enough I actually love this lipstick! I love this lipstick and usually can pull off bright lips but I must admit I'm a little intimidated to wear this out in public, too!

If you're a fair skin girly looking for a red shade that doesn't look too striking, this would be perfect! To achieve more buildable coverage, use more dabbing motions to apply the color and press lips together to diffuse the color. It's stunning, but it's not the more comfortable replacement for Wet N Wild Purty Persimmon that I envisioned. Diisopropyl Dimer Dilinoleate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Ozokerite, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Mica, Octyldodecyl Neopentanoate, Silica, Nylon-12, Kaolin, Cera Carnauba/Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax/Cire De Carnauba, Synthetic Wax, Cera Microcristallina/Microcrystalline Wax/Cire Microcristalline, Barium Sulfate, Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Agave Rigida (Sisal) Extract, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Anemarrhena Asphodeloides Root Extract, Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, Polyethylene, BHT, Phenoxyethanol . The formula is even and smooth, and it lasts on my lips reasonably well providing I don’t eat anything.

The shade brightens up my pale skin making everything looks more vibrant, but I can see this looking equally as striking on a darker skin tone as well. You won't find all the newest releases and limited edition products here--I'm trying to find things that work, whether they're classics or the latest thing. We’ve re-defined the rules of matte lipstick with this lightweight, non-drying matte lipstick formula. Like lots of lipsticks in the orange or coral family, Fire and Ice has more of a tendency than other shades to highlight flaky lips.

It's not nearly as bad as some I've used, but if you are very picky, you might want to exfoliate before applying it. I also put it next to some roses I just recently picked out of my own garden (okay, I don’t have a “garden”, that sounds really fancy- maybe “yard” is a better word!I had despaired of ever finding a red like Cherries in the Snow that wouldn't make me sick from the smell.
